Change in Working Conditions – Christopher N.
My employer changed my working address from their head office in Sandton to a client’s office in Spartan. This added an additional 2 hours to my daily commute the work. The Skilled Employees’ Collective successfully negotiated with my employer to ensure that I was fairly compensated for this change to my working conditions.
Never ending employment contracts – Rebecca H.
I work for car manufacturer in Gauteng. All the white staff are employed on contract to ensure the company achieves a good B-BBEE rating. As a result, I have been stuck in ongoing 1 year contracts. Soon after getting the SEC (Skilled Employee’s Collective) to assist, I was made an offer of permanent employment.
Change in Working Conditions – Kealeboga S.
I work in the IT industry and my employer expects me to always finish what I am doing at a customer’s office before leaving for home. He refuses to pay me overtime because his customers don’t pay overtime. I always thought this was unfair. Now, thanks to the Skilled Employee’s Collective, I now receive overtime for this work.
